My HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 10 does not have the vga connector for external video. The only external connection options for an external device are HDMI, usb, or Miracast wireless. I have an old projector with VGA input, composite video input, and a usb connector. The laptop 'pings' when I connect the projector to the laptpo via usb - but nothing else happens. The projector is shown as a connected device and not as a video device. Any ideas how I can connect the projector via usb or is it not possible? Puzzled Dave.
Hi Dave, Could you press Windows Key + P and select Duplicate only. Check if it works properly. If not, then try updating the drivers and check if the issue persists. Follow the steps below. Uninstall USB controller drivers 1. Press Windows key + X and click on Device Manager.

Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right-click on every device under Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and click Uninstall. Restart the system and allow the computer to reinstall the USB controllers. Connect computer the device again. Regards, Jesinta Rozario.
